Mixtape Of The Day: "R.A.S. 2.0: The Evolution Of The Revolution"-MasSicker aka King Mas (Viral sounds)

Jah know star... I've been waiting for this mixtape for so long...

Finally, it's here!!!

MasSicker, the craziest thing from outta America, released this "R.A.S 2.0:The Evolution of the Revolution"mixtape a few days ago.

This Boston singjay is definitely one of my favourite upcoming artists.

He's pretty versatile and can mash up any kind of riddim, no matter if a dancehall, 1 drop or RnB.

The new millenium rasta is back in town (Special mention to "Upgrade", "Stronger", "I Grade", "Dutty Love", "Rain a Fall" and of course the intro by Prince Zimboo!!!!)

Oh, and if you appreciate this mawd mixtape, don't forget to download his first mixtape, which I posted a few months ago.

And spread the word...

DANGEROUS Mo'FuTURE ARTIST DIS !!!

Mixtape Of The Day: "Mos Dub": Mos Def Remixes (by Max Tannone)

This one goes out to all those who enjoyed the "Relatives Abroad" concept album (see download link below).

As you can imagine, this "Mos Dub" album (dem call it a "Mashup album") blends Mos Def accapellas with heavyweight reggae dubbed versions (Johnny Too Bad, Shanty Town, Take A Ride, ...).

And, believe it or not, the whole thing is a (quite) complete success!!! ( Well, actually, only the mix of track number 2 is kind of ... strange!)

So, the only thing you have to do now is to build a big Bob, put your stereo on, kick back and relax... and why not try to buss a likkle flow? (well only if you're home alone, of course...)

Download it here, fire.

Mixtape Of The Day: "Relatives Abroad": Nas/Bob Marley Remixes

Blending Nas' vocals with Bob Marley sounds is a great idea!!!

I wonder where did the guys from 100 Akres get this idea from?

Hum...

Is it possible that, hum, well, hum... well, maybe from...?

No, that can't be...

But anyway, bet I know what you're thinking...

- "No rasta, please, rasta.
Don't come with another weak remixes compilation, please, rasta, don't do this...."

... and in a way you're right.

I agree, indeed, that there is nothing worse on earth than a bad reggae/hip hop remix.
More time, the accapella don't fit the riddim at all, the singer is totally off key and the listening period quickly turns into something like "audio torture".

But, believe me, that's not the case here.

This totally unofficial EP is certainly not perfect (pitch level is sometimes well too high) but it's quite entertaining...

So why not give this concept remix album a bly....

Get it here.

Mixtape Of The Day: Split Personality-Massicker

Today seems like the right time for me to post MasSicker's latest mixtape.

Dis mixtape called "Split Personality" is quite representative of the style of this very promising yardie/yankee youth.

Besides hits like "New Millenium Rasta" and "Mek Dem Gwaan", it contains the BAD song "Legacy", which is without any doubt my favorite tune of the last 2 months...

I know that some people won't agree with me neither understand why me say dat, but whatever... To each his own...

I think it's the hardest track pon the "Coming In From The Cold" riddim recently brilliantly remade by John John...

Da youth ya skilly...

Judge by yourself.

WARNING!!! Mixtape Of The Day: PATEXX!!! Dangerous New Artist!!!

WAAARNING!!!!
Da youth yah hard like steeeeeeel!
Him named PATEXX and hails from St Thomas, JA and guess wha: I'll bet you he'll soon be one of the most important artists on the dancehall scene.
Memba me tell you!
Dis mixtape was made by none other than DJ KENNY and contains nuff productions by JAM II, HEART OF LOVE and many many more hot producers.
Somewhere between Chino's and Mavado's, PATEXX's style is still very unique and easily recognizable. I think it can be summed up in one gimmick alone:"Patexx tell dem anyday now..."

Da mixtape ya sell awfff, youth!
Truss me.
