Ghana entered the history books yesterday, being the first african country to win a match during the first african World Cup.

For this reason, I decided to flip the script, leaving the caribbean scene for a while.

These are two tunes from one of Ghana's highlife/dancehall/reggae scene biggest stars, Samini.

New Artist Of The Day: J Boog (Hawaii/Compton)

Who da badman deh?

He's J Boog...

Maybe he's got this kind of LA thuggy style just because... he comes from... Compton.

Well, at least, that's where the man was brought up.

He hails from Hawaii and his musical work is a patchwork of Reggae, Hip Hop, RnB, and Jawaiian.

I first heard from him through the tune named "Got to be strong" which he performed alongside jamaican culture star Richie Spice. This song was produced by Yami Bolo (yeah, the man is still alive!!!) and Gramps Morgan.

All I have just seen that he also has his slice of the cake on the brilliant "Major and Minor" riddim which Don Corleone released a few days ago.

His voice has this kind of sufferer's vibe inside weh sometimes reminds me of Glen Washington's...

I was not really surprised to see him starting to collaborate with Don Corleone cause this producer has already expressed his interest for foreign artists many times in the past.

Remember that he's the man who bussed artists such as Pressure, Gentleman or Maikal X in Jamaica.

I appreciate the man's vision of music.

He's always bringing new talents on the front scene (Protoje's the next big thing.) and refreshes the scenario every time.

But, anyway...

Get used to da artist yah, cause you'll probably hear more and more from him.

Him named Chan Dizzy, hails from Kingston and literally tears up the place!!!!!!!!

This new member of the JOP's (Aidonia's response to Gully and Gaza) works include collabs with some big producers like Genius, Russian and some other guys.

New Artist Of The Day: Hitmaker

Hitmaker is a new DJ straight outta Kingston. I think it won't be too long before he buss cause he's now linked with producers such as Seanizzle and Vertex.
And as far as I know he has also already collaborated with big producers like Dave Kelly, Bobby Digital and Don Corleone...

But only time will tell...

Artist of The Day: Zionomi

Zionomi is a Lucian artist (hailing from the carribean island of St-Lucia that is) who recently captivated his homecountry's attention. Beside his incredible resemblance to Geneva's foundation Raspect shop's former clerk (not the one you think...), Zionomi is a rasta artist who can both voice pon heavy one drop and dancehall riddims as well as pon uptempo soca beats.

These are 2 tunes that will enable you to know a little more about his works.

The first one is a traditionnal but ketchy one drop tune named "Being just a friend" sung ina style that can recall Jah Cure's best efforts. Me rate da one yah!



The second one is a soca smash hit combination with Bobby Bling pon the fire riddim named the BOOM BOOM riddim. It's a true murderation and the video is really mad!!! You haffi get it, dread, truss me!



If you rate da riddim yah, you have to know that there are several big tunes pon the riddim including a wicked combination between Baby Blue and Mavado (is it really him? Well, mi nuh know... Maybe, but feels like the man did sick when him recorded da one yah)!!! and another one by wicked artist Cylva-J named "Unleash" (LADIIIIIEEEEEEZ!!!!!!). Check dem out nuh!
